Eight architecture and design events in June from Dezeen Events Guide

3 Days of Design, London Festival of Architecture and UIA World Congress of Architects are among the architecture and design events featured in Dezeen Events Guide this month.

Other events taking place this June include Orgatec Tokyo, SXSW London, NeoCon, Fiskars Village Art and Design Biennale and San Francisco Design Week.

SXSW London
1 to 6 June, UK

Culture and technology festival SXSW returns for its second London edition with a six-day programme taking place at over 20 venues clustered around the Truman Brewery in Shoreditch.

The initial edition of the festival takes place in Austin each year, inviting global creatives and music, film and art enthusiasts to explore innovation across the industries.

The festival encompasses a range of events, including a conference series, a music festival, a screening festival and a visual arts exhibition.

San Francisco Design Week
1 to 12 June, USA

Nonprofit organisation Design Bay Area hosts the 20th anniversary edition of San Francisco Design Week in June, hotings hundreds of events, including talks, exhibitions, workshops and parties.

Under the theme Multitudes, the Californian festival highlights the power of plurality this year, celebrating the variety in design disciplines, identities and perspectives.

Each year, the event welcomes over 60,000 visitors from around the world.

London Festival of Architecture
1 to 30 June, UK

Returning in 2026 under the theme Belonging, the London Festival of Architecture brings the city to life with a month-long activation across 11 neighbourhoods.

This iteration explores the concepts of connection and belonging in a city like London, aiming to instigate change and help communities to grow even after the programme ends.

The calendar includes installations, exhibitions, talks, screenings, workshops, tours and performances.

Orgatec Tokyo
2 to 4 June, Japan

Orgatec Tokyo is an international workplace trade show gathering design industry professionals in the Japanese capital since 2022, following 70 years of the event in Cologne, Germany.

The show takes over four halls at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center, with more than 150 brands participating in the exhibition, seminars and awards.

This year’s edition follows the theme Shift Design.

Fiskars Village Art and Design Biennale
7 June to 30 August, Finland

The 2026 edition of Fiskars Village Art and Design Biennale once again turns the historic Finnish village of Fiskars into an international hub of contemporary art, design and architecture.

There are two main exhibitions in the programme: Sense of Water analyses human relationships with water and Dew explores the cycle of water as a life engine.

Alongside the main showcases, the event features a parallel series of exhibitions, performances, tours and open studios organised by artists and galleries in the region.

NeoCon
8 to 10 June, USA

NeoCon, the commercial interior design fair, returns to the Mart in Chicago with a three-day exhibition of over 450 brands and a schedule of talks, workshops, tours, awards and parties.

The showcase features thousands of new products from furniture, textiles, finishes and technology brands, covering a range of sectors, including education, hospitality, retail, healthcare and residential.

Like every year, the event hosts a preview on 7 June, allowing visitors to explore the exhibition between 12:00pm and 4:00pm.

3 Days of Design
10 to 12 June, Denmark

Returning for its 13th edition with the theme Make This Moment Matter, this year’s 3 Days of Design is expected to host over 400 global brands in a city-wide activation.

Programme highlights include the Material Matters group exhibition, focusing on materiality across various architecture and design disciplines, and the Entering the Now Symposium, exploring the future of the industry in terms of innovation, social action and sustainability.

Festival attendees can check out Dezeen’s digital guide and interactive map, helping navigate the eight participating districts in Copenhagen.

UIA World Congress of Architects
28 June to 2 July, Spain

UIA World Congress of Architects is an annual conference hosted by The International Union of Architects (UIA), convening architecture professionals, students and institutions from all over the world in a cultural exchange.

Its 29th edition takes place in Barcelona under the theme Becoming. Architectures for a Planet in Transition, gathering more than 10,000 participants and 250 speakers.

Alongside more than 100 sessions across eight stages, attendees can also explore a central exhibition and 70 architectural itineraries happening across the region.
